The City of Newcastle has unveiled an 11-seater autonomous shuttle bus which is proposed to travel along a 2km loop from Watt Street to Nobbys along Wharf Road.
The brand new vehicle has In-built computers and sensing systems capable of detecting obstacles, anticipating movement and evaluating risk of collision, are what sets this vehicle apart from the risks associated with human-controlled cars. It can also determine the travel route, make decisions to slow down, brake and alternate the vehicle’s path if required.
